Pinal County Energy Center, LLC, a subsidiary of Seguro Energy Partners LLC, filed an application for a certificate of environmental compatibility (CEC) to construct up to 480 megawatts (MW) of methane gas generation two miles south of Casa Grande, Arizona. The plant would consist of ten General Electric (GE) LM6000 methane gas turbines that will emit additional pollution into the air in an area that already has poor air quality. The applicant for this CEC does not indicate where the electricity will be sold.
This methane gas plant will increase air pollution, including nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulates, both coarse particulates known as PM10 and fine particulates known as PM2.5, sulfur dioxide (SO2), volatile organic compounds (VOC), and carbon monoxide (CO), as well as hazardous air pollutants, including formaldehyde.
Please sign the petition to the AZ Corporation Commission, asking them to deny approval of a certificate of environmental compatibility for this methane gas plant.
