Colorado’s transportation sector is the largest source of carbon pollution in our state which means one thing is clear: if we want cleaner air we need to reduce pollution from cars. Clean cars improve public health, help our climate, and save consumers money.
That’s why it’s critical that the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) approves a plan to help build more charging stations for electric vehicles, invest in electric school buses, electric fleets, and other electric transportation options to support a cleaner, healthier Colorado.
If approved, this new plan proposed by Xcel Energy could put Colorado on the path to cleaner air and a safe climate. Xcel estimates that their plan will result in approximately 18,000 new electric vehicle chargers in Colorado over the next three years and will help unlock more than $1.5 billion in benefits for Coloradans in its service territory through 2030 – including savings on vehicle fuel, maintenance and electricity bills.
Replacing gas-guzzling cars with electric vehicles is paramount to improving public health and tackling climate change.
Thank you for standing up for clean air and a healthy Colorado!
