The Sierra Club is the nation’s oldest and largest environmental organization. For over 40 years, DC Chapter has worked successfully to protect and improve the environment in the Nation's capital. We are a grassroots, people-powered group of dedicated local activists working on clean energy, waste reduction, sustainable transportation, and environmental justice in DC. Our Chapter is highly engaged in grassroots advocacy, from lobbying the Council and mayor, advocating for our environment and health, to electing pro-environment candidates. We're focused on work right here in the District, in our region, and across the globe. DC is a leader on environmental action, but we're facing serious challenges to climate protections nationally and locally-- so we're working hard to advance bold action. We are a volunteer-driven Chapter and depend on the help of local Sierra Club members and activists to make an impact. Join us!
