Each year, in response to rising energy bills, there is an attempt to pull Delaware out of RGGI, the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. Despite repeated attempts to explain how RGGI is a part of the solutions to rising bills and not the problem, 2026 has brought us yet another bill on RGGI. This bill seeks to pull us out of RGGI and defund programs that fund: bill assistance to low-income families and seniors; energy efficiency projects for our farmers and businesses; and weatherization for those struggling with home repairs; all while reducing air pollution on both a local and regional level.
Send a message to your legislators, urging them to protect our status as a RGGI state and stand up for accountability, affordability, and making polluters pay! A personal message is the easiest way to make your email stand out, so please provide at least a sentence or 2 about why you oppose the efforts to take us out of RGGI.
