Tell Governor DeSantis: Sign the State Park Preservation Act!

Great news! The Florida Legislature has passed the State Park Preservation Act (CS/CS/HB 209 – State Land Management) and it’s now been sent to Governor DeSantis’ desk.

This landmark, bipartisan legislation would close the loopholes that allowed for last year’s dangerous development proposals—and permanently protect Florida’s iconic state parks.

Since these proposals first surfaced in August 2024, Floridians have united like never before to send a loud, clear message: Our parks are NOT for sale.

Thanks to your voices and months of passionate advocacy, we’re closer than ever to a major victory. But we’re not there yet.

Take action TODAY to urge Governor DeSantis to sign the State Park Preservation Act and preserve Florida’s wild places—forever.

Dear Governor Ron DeSantis: As a proud Floridian who cherishes our state’s natural treasures, I respectfully urge you to sign CS/CS/HB 209 – State Land Management, also known as the State Park Preservation Act. This critical, bipartisan legislation closes dangerous loopholes in Florida law that last year opened the door to development proposals threatening the integrity of our cherished state parks. Had those proposals moved forward, the damage would have been irreversible. The overwhelming public response in August 2024 and again this spring demonstrates just how much Floridians value their state parks. People from across the political spectrum stood together to say loud and clear: our parks are not for sale. Governor, by signing the State Park Preservation Act, you have the opportunity to affirm that Florida’s iconic, award-winning parks will be protected not just for today, but for generations to come. Please sign CS/CS/HB 209 and help preserve Florida’s beloved state parks and natural places. Sincerely,
