No Palo Data Center Annexation!

A massive Google data center is proposed near Palo, but the company is seeking annexation into the city to bypass Linn County’s hard-fought environmental and water protections. The data center could use millions of gallons of water from the Silurian aquifer, without the protections local leaders put in place. This sets a dangerous precedent where corporations can sidestep community rules designed to protect our resources. Tell Palo leaders to reject annexation and stand up for responsible, accountable development.

I am a Linn County resident, and I’m asking you to help protect our county’s water, environment, and local decision-making by opposing the proposed annexation for the Google data center near Palo. This project could place significant strain on the Silurian aquifer while avoiding the important ordinances Linn County leaders worked hard to establish. Allowing annexation in this case sets a troubling precedent that lets corporations sidestep community protections. I urge you to stand with residents and reject this annexation to ensure responsible, transparent development that puts people and our natural resources first.
