Massachusetts must protect our clean vehicle rules!

Did you know that the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection delayed the implementation of Advanced Clean Trucks (April 2025 press release)? Now under continuing pressure from automakers, Trump, and the fossil fuel lobby, Advanced Clean Cars II (ACCII) is under threat of being delayed in MA. ACCII transitions new cars away from dirty fossil fuels and toward clean electricity by setting gradual requirements on automakers. Supporting this transition to clean cars is important for improving air quality, reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation section, and getting more EVs onto the market and making them ultimately a more affordable choice for more drivers.

Governor Healey and her administration need to hear from us to protect ACCII. With so much progress being rolled back across the country, this is not the time for Massachusetts to be backsliding on our climate commitments.

Keep Advanced Clean Cars II (ACCII) as Planned!
I am writing in support of existing clean transportation rules in MA, particularly Advanced Clean Cars II (ACCII) regulations. These regulations are meaningful to MA residents because an increase in the percentage of electric vehicles in the new cars automakers deliver makes it easier for drivers to switch to cleaner cars. More drivers in cleaner cars benefits public health and our planet via lower emissions. Rolling back progress in Massachusetts derails us from meeting our 2030 climate goals, which are vital to setting humanity on a track for a livable future. Don’t bow to the Trump administration and industry pressure! The MA people stand strong in support of ACCII beginning with model year 2026 as planned. Thank you.
