The long-awaited Senate Energy Bill came out on Wednesday, and for the past 48 hours, advocates and legislators have been piecing through this 163 page bill. The good news is that the bill is significantly better than previous versions and does not include the $1 billion cut to Mass Save, our energy efficiency program. The bill also provides some protections against utility profiteering and unchecked gas expansion, but we think it could go further.
Please use this form to email your Senator and request that they support amendments that would:
- Protect Massachusetts residents from the harms of unrestricted data center development.
- Prevent gas expansion near environmental justice communities
- Strengthen existing language on preventing utilities from using our money for advertising
- Push back on false solutions like Biomass and RNG
- & many more! Because this is such a massive bill, there are a whole lot of amendments that we and our allies will be advocating for.
Fill out this form to ask your Senator to vote for these amendments next Wednesday, July 1st, and pass the strongest energy bill they can.
