Michigan Becomes National Leader in Clean Energy: Thank Michigan Lawmakers Today!

Governor Whitmer signed into law one of the most ambitious and comprehensive climate action plans in the country. These new laws deliver clean and affordable energy for Michiganders while all providing good-paying, family-sustaining jobs for Michiganders.

Thanks to Sierra Club’s grassroots volunteers like yourself who spent months working alongside staff and partners, we got these strong clean energy bills across the finish line. Your tireless advocacy truly made a difference.

Thank you for supporting the Clean Energy Future Package and the Clean Energy and Jobs Act, one of the most ambitious clean energy plans in the nation. Together, these bills will clean up the power sector rapidly, affordably, and reliably – taking advantage of a once-in-a-generation opportunity by establishing Michigan as a climate leader, keeping the state competitive, supercharging the state’s clean energy economy, and give the MPSC the tools it needs to protect the public interest and hold utilities accountable. Moreover, with the passage of these bills, we are taking further steps towards protecting our air, water, and communities. The people of Michigan have your back and will rally together to support you, as we continue to push our state forward on climate.
