Michiganders are struggling to pay their water bills. Why? Because the government stopped funding water infrastructure and shifted all the costs onto you, the customer. This shift resulted in crumbling infrastructure and skyrocketing costs. At the end of the day, rate hikes and water shutoffs aren't going to deliver affordable, clean water to Michigan.

We have a path out of this mess thanks to Senator Stephanie Chang’s Water Affordability Package, which will catalyze the shift toward funding real water affordability for Michiganders.

We need your help to get this package the support it needs! Urge your State Representative and Senator to support the swift passage of these crucial bills. Water is life, and everyone deserves access to clean, safe, and affordable water regardless of how much money they make.

We are the Great Lakes state, home to 21% of the world's freshwater. Water is life, and everyone should have access to clean, safe, and affordable drinking water. Unfortunately, too many of my fellow Michiganders don't have this basic human right afforded to them. We have a path toward ensuring everyone has access to clean and safe water thanks to Senator Stephanie Chang’s Water Affordability Package. These bills will catalyze the shift toward funding real water affordability for Michiganders. Senator Chang’s bills provide baseline funding for low-income and vulnerable households to keep their water on while also bringing financial sustainability to utilities struggling to cover the costs of maintaining drinking water infrastructure. If we do not pass our water affordability legislation, our vulnerable seniors and neighbors will no longer have a program that can help them afford water, and we will leave them stranded and unable to pay their water bills. We cannot allow this. Please use your power as a leader in this state to ensure we pass strong water affordability bills in 2024.
