I urge you to support community solar legislation this session to give renters, low-income families, and those without rooftop access the option to subscribe to solar and lower their bills. Right now, utility companies have a monopoly on community solar, blocking local solutions—this needs to change.
Michiganders face some of the highest energy costs and poorest service in the Midwest. Expanding community solar would offer more choice, cut pollution, and lower bills with affordable clean energy.
A Michigan State report found 900 MW of community solar could generate $1.4 billion in economic impact and create 18,500 jobs.
This bipartisan issue empowers communities, creates jobs, and helps families and small businesses save. It’s time to give Michigan residents the freedom to choose cleaner, cheaper energy.
