Tell Hennepin County to shut down the HERC trash burner.

The Hennepin Energy Recovery Center (HERC) is the state’s largest trash incinerator, located near North Minneapolis amid homes, daycares, and places of worship. HERC burns 1,000 tons of trash per day, enough trash to fill 11 Twins stadiums - trash from half the residents and businesses of Hennepin County, from Bloomington to Minnetoka. In burning trash, it produces some energy, but it also emits mercury, lead, carbon monoxide, and dioxins, poisoning the air of nearby neighborhoods. Shutting down the HERC is environmental justice.
