Tell Leaders: Protect Minnesotans from Data Center Risks

Tech billionaires are trying to build giant data centers across Minnesota. Their plans—if realized—will pollute our water, drain aquifers, subvert climate goals, drain local government coffers, cause sky-high electric rates, and subject neighbors to noise and light pollution.

To build these energy hog facilities, which would never survive public scrutiny, the tech bros negotiate sweetheart deals with elected officials in secret, directly undermining our democracy.

State leaders must pass bills this session to address these risks. Please send a message telling your representatives to act.

I’m concerned about the many proposals for hyperscale data centers in Minnesota. They pose many risks including: more expensive electric bills, more climate & air pollution, water depletion and water pollution, local impacts, tribal sovereignty and our state’s budget. Please stand with the people of Minnesota and not tech billionaires by passing laws THIS session to address these risks. The coalition for responsible data centers has proposed a series of policy solutions. I look forward to hearing how you are working to pass these. Thank you,
