Tell Your Elected Officials: Protect the Roadless Rule!

The Forest Service's Roadless Rule has protected almost 45 million acres of United States Forest Service (USFS) land across the U.S. from road building and other development. In Montana alone, the Roadless Rule currently protects over $6.4 million acres of Forest Service lands from road building! Although this is an executive branch action, it is clear that Montana's Congressional delegation plays a crucial role in what happens next.

Act now to tell Montana's elected officials to show up for public lands, an issue they claim to care about, and protect the Roadless Rule to protect Montana public lands in turn.

I'm deeply concerned about the proposal to rescind the USFS Roadless Rule, which has protected almost 45 million acres of United States Forest Service (USFS) land across the U.S. from road building and other development. In Montana alone, the Roadless Rule currently protects over $6.4 million acres of Forest Service lands from road building. The Trump administration took comments on the proposed Rule rescission until September 19, 2025. It's clear that the Montana Congressional delegation could play a crucial role in what ultimately happens. Please look out for Montanans and our public lands by pushing back aggressively on the Trump administration's attempts to roll back the Roadless Rule. I’m especially requesting that you: 1) Work with the administration to keep the Roadless Rule intact as is; and 2) Advocate loudly against proposed changes to the rule that will weaken its ability to protect the integrity of roadless lands. Thank you.
