MGE: Make Madison’s 100% goals a 100% reality!

User-added image

With your help, Madison passed a groundbreaking, community-wide goal of 100% renewable energy in March, but our utility, Madison Gas & Electric (MGE), still hasn’t gotten on board.

Now city leaders are considering a partnership with Madison Gas & Electric on a series of joint projects like solar installations, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency. While these are great efforts, they aren’t enough to reach our goals. The fact is that MGE still gets more than two-thirds of its power from dirty coal, and only plans to be less than a third renewable by 2030. That’s too little, too late, especially when other cities are planning to leave us in the dust (or toxic coal ash).

Together, the City of Madison and MGE can make our 100% renewable goals a 100% reality. Tell MGE to rise to the challenge.
