Let's move to a clean energy future

Dear Ms. Good, Duke Energy has done a tremendous job delivering affordable, reliable power to North Carolinians for decades. But recent advancements in energy have fundamentally changed the landscape, and I worry that without bold leadership from you, North Carolina residents risk being left behind; stuck with a legacy of pollution and ever increasing electric bills. We can meet our energy needs without relying on dirty fossil fuels like coal and fracked gas. By focusing Duke's investments on energy efficiency and clean energy sources like wind and solar, Duke could retire every coal plant in the state, and avoid the need to build a single new gas plant in the future. This shift would save your customers on average $100 a year on their bills, create between 109,000 and 157,000 jobs. It would also reduce every major pollutant associated with electricity production and save 1,200 lives between now and 2028.  We're at a critical moment of time. You can help lead us into the clean energy future, but only if you are willing to take bold action.
