Demand a cleaner energy plan from Duke Energy!

Our new report shows* that by focusing on energy efficiency and clean energy, Duke Energy could reliably meet North Carolina's energy needs while retiring every coal plant in the state, and not building a single new gas plant. This shift would save the average North Carolinian $100 a year on their bills and create between 109,000 and 157,000 jobs. It would also reduce every major pollutant associated with electricity production; saving 1,200 lives between now and 2028.

Instead, Duke seems trapped in the 20th century. Long term plans show Duke spending the next 15 years running most of their coal plants and building 19 new gas plants in the state instead of moving to cleaner, safer energy!

Tell Duke Energy's CEO Lynn Good that you want Duke Energy to move into the 21st century and shift away from the dirty energy sources of the past. Instead she should focus on clean energy sources like wind, solar and energy efficiency to meet our energy needs.
