VICTORY! Washington says "NO!" to the Millennium coal export terminal!

User-added image

All of your hard work paid off! The Washington Department of Ecology has denied a critical water quality permit for the proposed Millennium Bulk Terminals coal export facility in Longview, citing the project’s negative impacts on climate, clean air and water.

This means after years of organizing, after thousands of people participated in public hearings, comments, and rallies, the last coal export terminal in the Northwest is finally finished! Will you join us in thanking the Washington Department of Ecology for protecting our water, climate, and health?

Back in 2010, this project was the first of six coal export terminals to emerge in the Pacific Northwest. Today, because of the hard work of people like you across the region, all six projects have been denied or abandoned. It’s time to move on to the future; clean, sustainable family-wage jobs that provide a reliable future for communities around the region while protecting our health and the environment. Join us in celebrating this tremendous victory, and thank the Department of Ecology!
