Trump and his cronies are desperate to drill in the Arctic Refuge -- they've even called Alaska the "centerpiece" of their plan for energy dominance. And this week, their plan came one step closer to reality. The House voted in favor of a budget that would allow drilling in the Refuge.
Next, the budget moves to the Senate -- and we need to make sure it stops there.
The Trump administration knows that drilling in the Refuge is hugely unpopular -- two-thirds of Americans oppose it. A controversial policy like this would normally involve intense scrutiny and debate. But by burying it in the fine print of the budget plan, Trump is betting that he can sell out the Arctic without raising an outcry.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. For decades, Big Oil has tried every trick in the book in an attempt to get access to the Refuge. We've stood up to them at every turn, and as the budget works its way through Congress, we need to oppose them every step of the way to keep the Arctic Refuge off-limits to drilling.
Tell your Senator to reject this destructive budget proposal and protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge once and for all.
