Join Washingtonians taking action to get Initiative 1631 on the state ballot!

Right now, Washingtonians have the opportunity to get Initiative 1631 -- the boldest and most equitable climate action plan this state has ever seen -- on the state ballot.

That's why the Sierra Club is supporting Ballot Initiative 1631 -- and you should too.

If passed, Initiative 1631 will:
  • Invest in clean energy like wind and solar, healthy forests, and clean water;
  • Create thousands of jobs in our communities across the state while cutting pollution; and
  • Establish a fee on the largest corporate polluters, to make sure they are doing their fair share to protect our state.
But in order to get an initiative on the ballot, Washington State Law requires 260,000 registered voters to sign a petition. Sierra Club volunteer Don Steinke (pictured with wife and fellow volunteer Alona Steinke) personally collected 1,500 so far, and statewide approximately 130,000 signatures have been collected.

The July 1 deadline is quickly approaching and we need your help. Sign up to volunteer!
