The Monadnock Region Is Ready For 100% Renewable Energy!

We cannot continue to invest in fossil fuels and climate chaos. That’s why over 60 cities and towns across the country, including three New Hampshire towns, are joining the #ReadyFor100 campaign and influencing cities, regions, and states to commit to a just transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050. We’re ready for towns in the Monadnock Region to join Hanover, Plainfield and Cornish in becoming the next New Hampshire communities to commit to powering their towns with 100% renewable energy. Please sign our petition calling on the City of Keene to commit to a goal of 100% renewable energy. We need everyone’s help to build momentum!

Today we see great prospect for a major shift to renewable energy. Solar, wind and biomass are abundant, cost-competitive, and ever cheaper. Energy efficiency technologies are widely available and being readily adopted. Actions taken now toward a renewable energy plan for Keene will strengthen our local economy in the decades ahead with stable energy costs and expenditures, good-paying jobs, clean air and water and thriving local ecosystems and a healthy community. We urge you to resolve with determination that 100% of energy used in Keene for electricity will come from renewable sources by 2030 and that local transportation and heating will be powered by 100% renewable energy by 2050. We pledge to support the City of Keene in this essential endeavor by assisting in planning and working to make this vision a reality in the years to come.
