Electric vehicles meet the needs of millions of people in the U.S. because they come in so many shapes, sizes, prices, and ranges. They're also much lower in harmful emissions, even when factoring in the electricity used to charge them (that's how dirty oil is!). As we shift to more renewable sources of electricity, electric vehicles will become even cleaner over time.

At the same time, Sierra Club is working to make electric vehicles more accessible, and to help people understand that electric cars might work for them. And decision makers can make more progress on incentivizing cleaner transportation options.
