Big Coal and Nuclear are once again seeking dirty energy bailouts. Trump's Energy Secretary, Rick Perry, is considering forcing huge new bailout costs on Kentuckians, while the dirty energy industry seeks to change the overall energy marketplace and hurt clean energy to support uneconomic dirty coal and nuclear plants.
This is a bad deal for Kentucky electric customers and the environment. Bailing out old dirty coal and nuclear plants is the wrong choice for not just Kentuckians, as proven before, but it's bad electric policy nationwide.
Attorney General Andy Beshear is the Commonwealth's head legal officer and has the authority to take legal action on behalf of the people of Kentucky to oppose these dirty energy bailouts. Now is the time for Attorney General Beshear to take action to protect Kentuckians.
Send Attorney General Beshear a message: It’s time for him to do his legal duty by taking action against dirty energy bailout schemes that would needlessly harm ratepayers.
