Sign the Petition: Demand Final Rejection of Puente Power Plant

Last year, the California Energy Commission (CEC) announced that it intended to reject NRG's application to build the Puente Power Plant. The gas power plant was proposed to be built on the beaches of Oxnard and was overwhelmingly opposed by local residents.

But, before the CEC issued its final ruling, NRG requested and was granted, a six-month suspension, also known as a delay, of their application. Those six months are up but NRG is asking for yet another delay before the CEC issues its final order rejecting Puente.

There is no reason for the continued delay. Sign the petition urging the CEC to ignore NRG's stall tactics, and to finally and formally deny Puente's application.

The Oxnard community deserves closure so that they can move on with their lives, without worrying this project will be somehow resurrected.
