We booted Pruitt, make sure the next EPA administrator works for the public, not corporate polluters

The Senate should staunchly oppose any nominee for EPA administrator that does not put people, our health, clean air, and clean water before their self-interest or the interests of polluting corporations.

As your constituent, I am deeply concerned about public health, the environment, and potential changes in the leadership of the EPA. Scott Pruitt just resigned in a cloud of scandal and he should be replaced by someone who will let the EPA do its job. Andrew Wheeler, Pruitt’s former deputy of the EPA, has his own dangerous record and dirty dealings and demands far deeper scrutiny. Otherwise, Wheeler would keep the EPA mired in scandal. That’s why I urge you to oppose the nomination of Andrew Wheeler or a similar polluter-backed nominee for administrator of the EPA. For a decade, Wheeler has been a lobbyist for the coal industry and has denied the science of climate change. Such a leader at the EPA would pose a threat to the health and safety of everyone in America.
