Tell Ford to Protect Clean Car Standards!

The clean car standards enacted by the Obama administration were a huge step toward reducing climate pollution, and they helped Americans save money at the gas pump. But just two days after Donald Trump's inauguration, auto executives started plotting to turn them back. Now companies like Ford are working hand-in-hand with the Trump administration to get these standards overturned in a blatant attempt to rig the system for corporate polluters at the expense of public health and our climate.

That's why the Sierra Club is building a coalition to hold the auto industry accountable to clean car standards. Partnering with Public Citizen, Greenpeace, and other grassroots organizations, we're fighting to keep our air clean and our climate safe. Transportation is the single largest and fastest-growing source of emissions in the U.S. For now, clean car standards are helping us drive away six billion metric tons of dangerous carbon pollution and keep 12 billion barrels of oil in the ground. Rolling back the standards might be what the auto industry lobbyists in Washington want, but it would be a catastrophe for American families.

Tell automakers we need to strengthen clean car standards -- not roll them back -- for clean air, a healthy climate for our families, and creating more high-paying jobs for the next generation building tomorrow's clean cars.
