Tell Congress: Protect us from Methane Pollution

User-added image

Environmental champions in Congress recently introduced the “Methane Waste Prevention Act of 2019," a bill that would restore commonsense safeguards and protect us from the toxic pollution like methane, carcinogenic volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and ozone smog. If enough of us tell our congresspeople to pass this bill now, we've got a strong chance of getting it passed in the House.

This puts pressure on the Senate to act on climate and builds momentum against this climate super-pollutant at a time when we've got just a few short years to get a handle on the climate crisis. Methane is a greenhouse gas that’s 87 times more potent than carbon dioxide when it's in the atmosphere and a public health risk. We must cut methane pollution now.

Right now, the list of cosponsors for this important bill is growing and more are needed to ensure its success. Will you contact your member of Congress and ask them to cosponsor this legislation and support it as it moves through the House?
