Berkshire Hathaway's Risky Energy Business

While other energy companies are working towards a rapid clean energy transition, Berkshire Hathaway's utilities -- MidAmerican Energy, Rocky Mountain Power, Pacific Power, and NV Energy -- are doubling down on harmful fossil fuels at the customers’ expense. Berkshire Hathaway operates the dirtiest set of coal-fired power plants in the country, contributing to millions of dollars in healthcare expenses, thousands of lost school and work days, and dozens of premature deaths.

Greg Abel, Warren Buffett, and the rest of the Berkshire Hathaway team know three things about their coal plants: they are poisoning our communities, driving the climate crisis, and resulting in skyrocketing utility bills for their customers. It's time for Berkshire Hathaway to act. We're calling on Berkshire Hathaway to stop polluting our planet on our dime before it's too late.
