Protect Public Lands from Corporate Polluters and Billionaires!

National parks, national monuments, and other public lands and waters are some of our country’s most popular areas for exploring nature while conserving landscapes, clean water, and wildlife for the future. They are part of what makes this country great, but the Trump Administration, some members of Congress, and certain state leaders want to give away these cherished places to billionaire corporate polluters to increase drilling and mining.

It's more important than ever to make sure that your members of Congress understand the importance of our national parks, monuments, and other public lands and waters -- that way they will be able to stand up to Trump's land giveaway policies.

PROMPTS:

  • Do you live near any public lands, or are there particular public lands in your district / state that are worth mentioning?
  • Do you have a favorite national park, national monument, national forest, or other area of public land?

TALKING POINTS:

  • America’s national parks and public lands belong to all of us. They are overwhelmingly popular, regardless of state, region, or political identification – national parks and public lands are our true common ground.
  • Right now, Donald Trump and his unelected billionaires are waging an all-out assault on our parks and public lands.
  • These iconic landscapes unite us.
  • Protecting public lands from corporate interests safeguards our clean air and clean water and ensures the next generation can explore the national parks and public lands that make this country what it is.
  • Stripping public land protections to enable extractive industrial development will ultimately result in the public losing access to some of our country’s great mountains, valleys, deserts, rivers, lakes, and forests.
  • These actions may negatively impact communities who depend on public lands and waters for their local economies, drinking water, cultural values, and quality of life.
