Thank Gov. Lujan Grisham for fighting for access to Clean Cars in New Mexico

Electrifying cars and trucks improves our families' health, cleans up our air and slashes climate pollution, especially in low-income communities and communities of color that tend to be located closer to car and truck pollution.

Our life-saving New Mexico Clean Cars and trucks standards (Advanced Clean Cars II, Advanced Clean Trucks and Low NOx Heavy-Duty Omnibus), which have been adopted by nearly a dozen states, have been illegally halted by the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress.

This federal interference would force New Mexico and other states to go back to a status quo that favored dirty gas vehicles and reduced access to money-saving EVs -- and without a roadmaps to clean up deadly transportation pollution. However, state leaders can still make a difference by charging forward with smart clean-vehicle policies, investments and incentives.

Thank Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and Attorney General Raul Torrez for fighting for Clean Cars, and ask them to continue to fight for our clean transportation future!

Thank you for defending New Mexico's life-saving clean vehicle policies by passing clean cars and trucks rules, investing in clean cars incentives and infrastructure and for joining a coalition of states in suing the Trump Administration for the illegal attacks on the state’s authority to implement vital clean air protections. The future of the state's clean vehicle standards is not certain, leaving us without a clear roadmap to cut deadly tailpipe pollution. New Mexico communities are already suffering from dangerous air quality. With the Trump administration on the precipice of eliminating minimum federal protections against pollution from tailpipes and other sources, our air is bound to only get dirtier without swift, ambitious policy action from the state. Please continue this momentum and continue to fight for smart and durable clean-vehicle policies, investments and incentives.
