The Trump admin is trying to silence your voice on climate and public lands

The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) is under attack.

NEPA is one of our most powerful environmental protection laws. It requires the federal government to consider the views of communities and take health and environmental concerns into account when making decisions that affect you.

Protecting NEPA is key to keeping the "public" in public lands.

But under Trump's direction, federal agencies will be able sideline science, silence communities, and fast-track polluting projects.

The Trump admin’s new rules would:

Eliminate the public's voice in how public lands are managed
Ignore community input from families living nearby dangerous oil and gas, mining, and other development
Fast-track dirty energy projects without addressing the danger to our climate or our health

This is one more giveaway to the corporate polluters that helped elect Trump, at the expense of our families and future generations.

NEPA is a law that keeps us safe: it gives you a voice in making sure highways, pipelines, drilling, or mining don’t threaten our air, water, and public lands. Without NEPA, polluters get a blank check -- while we lose our right to speak up, provide input, and fight back.

But we have a chance to defend NEPA and keep the power with the people.

Comment today! Tell the Trump administration that you oppose these unnecessary rollbacks and demand a full environmental review process that puts people first.

I urge you to protect the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). In his attempts to sidestep and gut environmental protections, President Trump is eroding transparency and accountability, entrenching climate denial, and inhibiting public input. NEPA is democracy in action. It guides federal decision-making to ensure that federal agencies–who are meant to be working for the good of all Americans–fully and accurately consider the impacts of proposed federal projects and that affected communities have a voice in the process. But the current changes to your NEPA guidelines are clearly intended to benefit corporate polluters at our expense. Thorough environmental reviews make federal projects safer and more resilient. They give communities the power to weigh in on decisions impacting their environment. And, they are a critical civil rights tool, giving everyone the right to access safe and healthy air, water and public lands. NEPA is not a roadblock. It’s a roadmap to smarter, more efficient and transparent decision-making by the federal government. I urge you to protect public input and ensure a full environmental review process by not gutting your NEPA guidelines.
