Take Action Now: No Rate Increases for Dirty Coal

Arkansans need to comment and get the word out immediately against SWEPCO's attempt to charge electric customers for investments in dirty coal. SWEPCO is seeking a total increase of $113.6 million, including $31 million to pay for modifications on the old, dirty, and expensive Flint Creek Coal Plant!

In total, this will raise rates for the average residential customer by $30/month. That's an average increase of 27% for residential customers, adding up to $365/year per customer. Business customers' rates will increase by up to 40%! 📈💰

In March of this year, SWEPCO asked the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) for permission to update its electricity rates for Arkansas customers. We have this window of opportunity to tell the APSC not to let SWEPCO raise our rates due to poor coal investments, and instead, tell them we want cheaper, cleaner, and renewable energy that is readily available to customers in our state!

Arkansans need to OPPOSE this rate increase. Submit your comment to the Arkansas Public Service Commission today!
