In 2023, a group of major truck manufacturers signed the "Clean Truck Partnership," a landmark agreement committing them to build electric trucks regardless of any future federal policy changes. But instead of honoring their commitments, these companies have initiated a dangerous lawsuit that would do the exact opposite.
Globally, big trucks make up only three percent of vehicles on the road but are responsible for 86 percent of nitrogen oxide pollution and 30 percent of carbon emissions from the transportation sector. In the U.S., this pollution is heavily concentrated in communities where low-income, Black, and brown families are the most impacted.
These manufacturers are choosing profits over people. Tell Daimler Truck, Volvo Group, International Motors, and PACCAR to drop their lawsuit and honor their commitment to clean trucks and clean air.
