These pipelines are a vital piece of the massive AI data center buildout threatening the Southeast, including Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia. Power companies and data centers need gas to produce electricity for their operations, but it comes at the expense of our communities' pockets.

The construction and operation of gas pipelines threaten the health and safety of the people living near the routes, endangering families with explosions and pollution.

Our communities need clean, affordable energy, not more dangerous and expensive pipelines. Act before March 23 and demand that FERC stop these reckless proposed projects!

Dear Commissioners, The Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Mississippi Crossing (MSX) and SSE4 pipelines fails to adequately address two very important issues - the impact that feeding more gas to power data centers in the Southeast will have on our energy bills, and the risks associated with building more pipelines. Fossil fuel companies are generating billions of dollars in profits by selling methane gas to power the AI data center buildout in the Southeast and across the country, even as they export record amounts of LNG to Europe and Asia. And while the corporations keep getting richer, American families are paying more and more to power and heat our homes. Just last year, our home heating prices rose 55%, and this year is more of the same. It is unjust that the people be forced to pay higher prices, just so fossil fuel companies can reap big profits. The second issue is the risk of constructing and operating a pipeline through the Southeast, putting families' lives and property at risk. We know that when pipelines have accidents, the results can be catastrophic. Already this year, we've seen a gas pipeline explode in Southwest Louisiana, forcing a nearby school to go under a shelter-in-place order while the fire burned. Our concerns about pipeline safety are even greater now, as the current Administration defunds key oversight agencies such as the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. These important agencies no longer have the staffing or resources to ensure that pipelines are constructed and operated safely, and communities should not have to live with the consequences. Given these reasons, we demand that FERC take immediate action to deny construction authorization for the Mississippi Crossing (MSX) and SSE4 pipelines. Thank you for considering my comment.
