Stop Forcing Costly Coal Plants to Keep Operating

The Trump administration is abusing emergency powers to force aging coal plants in states like Michigan, Indiana, Colorado, and Washington to stay open after they were already scheduled to retire. Some of these plants aren’t even capable of operating safely without costly repairs, yet it’s costing millions of dollars per day to keep them online.

These unlawful orders are forcing expensive, dirty coal facilities to stay online, delaying the deployment of cheaper clean energy solutions, and exposing communities to harmful pollution. Tell the Trump administration to stop misusing its emergency authority and protect ratepayers by allowing these costly coal plants to retire.
