Protect Our Communities: Speak Out Against Dangerous Coal Pollution Rollbacks

Docket Number: EPA-HQ-OLEM-2020-0107-1376

The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing dangerous rollbacks to coal ash protections that could allow some of the nation’s dirtiest coal plants to keep operating longer and continue dumping toxic waste into unlined ponds. Coal ash contains hazardous pollutants like arsenic, mercury, and lead that threaten drinking water and public health, especially in nearby communities. These changes would weaken safeguards put in place after years of advocacy and legal action to hold polluters accountable.

We must speak out to defend these critical protections: Submit a public comment to the EPA urging them to reject these harmful rollbacks and protect our communities from coal ash pollution.
