No Fast Tracks for Oil And Gas

The Trump administration is seeking to grant oil and gas companies shortcuts to approving new wells in the delicate and fragile Western Arctic.

This is a continuation of the administration's attacks on our public lands. We need common sense rules to protect our climate, air, water and landscapes from the dangers of oil and gas drilling. Make no mistake, these rule changes benefit billionaires at the expense of some of our most ecologically valuable public land.

Instead of accelerating drilling at all costs, the Bureau of Land Management should be protecting our public lands. The agency should encourage public engagement and ensure comment inform best practices. Bypassing process designed to gather information and make the best informed decisions is reckless and irresponsible, putting profit over people and wildlife.
