Welcome to the NJ Chapter! The Sierra Club is the Nation’s oldest and largest grassroots organization dedicated to explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth. Take the survey now to join our community and share your interests and passions, we are strongest together.
Our NJ Chapter works on many issues when it comes to protecting NJ's environment such as fighting fossil fuel projects, protecting and preserving our open spaces and parks, supporting clean transportation, promoting clean energy such as wind and solar power, protecting our wildlife and endangered species, and as always, getting people outdoors!
In 2025, our major campaigns and goals include;
- Advancing 100% Clean Energy by 2035.
- Advancing the responsible and equitable build-out of clean energy, like offshore wind, solar, and battery storage.
- Preventing harmful development, conserving open space, land, and waters.
- Banning the use of toxic artificial turf in New Jersey.
- Electing a pro-environment Governor in 2026.
Our volunteers work across a range of issues, and we have issue-based committees that help us achieve these goals. Our Committees include;
- Building Electrification
- Conservation

- Environmental & Social Justice
