Plug Into the Sun

Balcony Solar2.jpgPlug-in solar is a great way for homeowners to lower their energy costs by using solar power. It won’t power your entire home, but it can help cover a big chunk of what you get from the grid. Plus, since plug-in solar is portable, you can take it with you when you move to a new place, whether you’re selling your home, moving to a new apartment, or renting a house. This bill makes it easier to use plug-in solar by stopping utilities from adding extra and tricky rules for you. Urge your legislators to support plug-in or "balcony solar" today.

I urge you to vote yes on House Bill 4060. The bill provides a reasonable framework for residents to utilize plug-in solar modules that would allow them to offset their energy bills, making the bills more affordable.  It prevents utilities from placing burdensome and onerous requirements on the resident that would otherwise preclude their usage.  These plug-in solar modules are portable, so they can be moved with the resident when they seek different housing.  Approval of HB 4060 provides a positive message to your constituents that you favor affordable energy options.
