Ask the governor to sign Community Solar into law!

SB84, the Community Solar Act, passed the New Mexico Legislature and now awaits a signature from Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. This bill was crafted by over 90 stakeholders in building a healthy, regenerative New Mexico, and in close consultation with Tribes & Pueblos.

Right now, many New Mexicans are left out of the clean-energy transition. SB 84 will make solar more accessible to all households regardless of income, provide energy cost savings, will create hundreds of family-supporting jobs and will help the just transition to clean energy.

This bill will also place all Tribes and Pueblos on a level playing field to lead on renewable energy and will cut energy costs by allowing Tribes to construct a solar array facility on their lands to offset the energy costs of tribal buildings and residences while supporting a local renewable energy source.

All New Mexicans can benefit from affordable clean energy.
