Thank New Mexico state senators who stood up for YOU over Big Oil CEOs

Last month, the New Mexico State Senate voted down the Clear Horizons Act, which would have taken critical climate action in our state, which is the nation's No. 2 oil producer and among the top 5 in gas production.

But 19 Democratic state senators did the right thing and voted to put New Mexico's people over oil and gas profits, despite being the target of a massive Big Oil negative ad campaign. Let's make sure these senators know New Mexicans have their back.

Please send them a thank-you note, and please add a personal comment to give your note more impact!

As one of the 77 percent of New Mexicans who support climate action, I want to thank you for prioritizing the families of your district and New Mexico over oil and gas lies. You did the right thing. Clear Horizons would have boosted our economy and raised our quality of life by making New Mexico a healthier and safer place to live. It set out reasonable benchmarks to be carefully implemented through rulemaking and built on the already-impressive 29% reduction in climate pollution that New Mexico has achieved through other policies. As the No. 2 oil producer and among the top gas producers in the nation, New Mexico has an outsized impact on the nation's climate emissions, and that means our solutions have a greater impact, too. Thank you for voting for the solutions. I hope you remain supportive of further health and climate solutions like Clear Horizons that protect future generations of New Mexicans.
