No Wall In Big Bend!

We, the undersigned, unite against the construction of a border wall through Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and other places of sacred beauty, shared ecosystems, and deep cultural history in west Texas.

This land does not belong to politicians, oligarchs, or billionaire elites chasing power through division and fear. It belongs to all of us, and to future generations.

A wall in Big Bend would scar one of the last truly wild places in Texas. It would destroy fragile habitats, block wildlife migration, and desecrate land that has been stewarded long before any border was drawn.

We reject the abuse of power that treats public land as disposable.

We reject leaders who make unilateral decisions that harm our communities and our environment.

We demand:

  • An immediate halt to any border wall development in or near Big Bend National Park
  • Full transparency and public input on any future proposals affecting public lands
  • Prioritizing humane, just, and environmentally responsible solutions at the border

Governor Abbott, Texans do not want more border walls along the Rio Grande, especially through sensitive regions like the Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and the surrounding ranchland that sustains this vibrant economy and culture. The existing sections of wall already impose an unnecessary burden on ranchers and other land owners, as well as others who survive on tourism or otherwise recreate along the river. A wall in Big Bend would scar one of the last truly wild places in Texas. It would destroy fragile habitats, block wildlife migration, increase flooding, and desecrate land that has been stewarded by generations of Texans. Rural communities along the river and Texans from the Panhandle to the coast are united in opposition to more border wall. We say no to more wall construction.
