The 8 million gallon, 14-story tall fracked gas tank is currently being constructed at the Port of Tacoma, immediately adjacent to the Puyallup reservation without an air permit from the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency. Sierra Club stands with the Puyallup Water Warriors and Puyallup Tribal Council in opposition to Puget Sound Energy (PSE)’s liquified “natural” gas (LNG) facility. The Puyallup Tribe has not been meaningfully consulted during the review process for this facility. The tribe has filed legal appeals and has requested several agencies enforce a stop work order until the project has all required permits.
