Join one of our Support Teams! Each team gets sporadic assignments when our teams need support, and you will be able to plug into this work remotely, whenever you are able to do so. If you are looking for a volunteer role that allows you to take on projects sporadically as they interest you and fit your schedule, then one of our Support Teams may be the right fit!
For all of the teams, we'll train you on any of the necessary tasks, so Support Teams are also a great way to learn new skills and make a difference at the same time. We also have many resources like templates and how-to guides we can provide.
- What Support Team(s) can I join?:Data Entry: helps enter information into spreadsheets, helps fill out Community Calendars and other online forms, and more
- Social Media help create social media posts, live tweet events, and more
- Phone Banking: call Sierra Club members and supporters to invite them to events or to take action
- Graphic Design: design social media graphics, flyers, and other needs (we offer training on an easy online graphic design platform, canva.com!)
- Photography & Videography: help create or edit videos for and attend events to take pictures or record events
- Texting: text other Sierra Club volunteers and invite them to events or to take action (we offer training on our texting app, Hustle!)
- Writing & Research: write factsheets, petition language, letters-to-the-editor, and more. This team also helps research background information for our campaigns (we provide background info and other templates and resources)
- Amplify Team: We know that when people hear about our issues, they are compelled to take action. Help us make sure people hear of them by signing up to be on our Amplify Team! You'll get an email (on average, weekly) with links to Facebook posts, tweets, and Instagram posts that we'd love for you to share!
What is the expected time commitment? Are there any requirements to volunteer?
Whenever a project is sent to the team, that project will have an expected time commitment listed. Most teams receive 1-2 projects/month. And there are no requirements to volunteer with a Support Team! Bring skills you already have, or let us know what you want to learn!
