PFAs, or per-fluoroalkyl acids, are toxic chemicals produced in many industrial practices today. Known as "forever chemicals" due to their ability to resist breaking down in the environment, PFAs have been proven to induce harmful health effects like neurotoxicity, immunotoxicity, and cancer. Even worse, the chemicals are disproportionately concentrated in areas with large lower-income & BIPOC communities, creating social and environmental inequity. However, we can solve this issue by passing SB 292, An Act Concerning the Use of PFAS in Certain Products. This bill would prohibit PFAS in many of our everyday products, such as cosmetics, cookware, and textiles. Send an email to your state legislators asking for their support for SB 292 today. Together, we can create a safer, more equitable, and cleaner Connecticut. Thank you for taking action!
