Take action for clean jobs, healthy communities, and a livable climate!

ICJC Platform graphic

With the passage of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), Illinois has made historic progress in building a thriving and equitable clean energy economy, but we can’t stop there. Illinois communities continue to struggle with the impacts of pollution, extreme weather, and undue consumer burdens.

That’s why we’re asking you to urge your legislators to support the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition Platform:

  • The Clean and Reliable Grid Act (CRGA HB3779 / SB2473): Accelerates our path to 100% clean renewable energy
  • The Clean and Equitable Transportation Act (CETA HB3778 / SB2486): Expands opportunities for walking, biking, public transportation, and the use of electric vehicles. This bill covers three policy areas: the Metropolitan Mobility Act, Transportation Choices Act, and Zero Emissions Vehicles Act.
  • The Clean and Healthy Buildings Act (CHBA HB3525 / SB2269): Expands access to energy efficiency and electric appliances to equitably transition off of fracked gas in buildings

Even with CEJA, Illinois remains the 7th most climate polluting state nationwide. We must urgently accelerate clean power development and address sectors beyond the electric grid, like transportation and buildings. We must continue working to transform our economy to one that is clean, healthy, reliable, and equitable for all.

I urge you to support the Illinois Clean Jobs Coalition Platform by working for the successful passage of the following policies: -The Clean and Reliable Grid Act (CRGA HB3779 / SB2473): Accelerates our path to 100% clean renewable energy by upgrading our electric grid, increasing energy efficiency, removing barriers to clean energy development, and requiring transparency and public participation for ALL utilities. -The Clean and Equitable Transportation Act (CETA HB 3778 / SB 2486): Expands opportunities for walking, biking, public transportation, and the use of electric vehicles, to put us on a path to a zero emissions transportation sector. Please also support the sub-bills that are part of CETA: the Metropolitan Mobility Act (MMA HB 1833 / SB 0005), Transportation Choices Act (TCA HB 2629 / SB 1680), and Zero-Emissions Vehicles Act (ZEV). -The Clean and Healthy Buildings Act (CHBA HB 3525 / SB 2269): Expands access to energy efficiency and electric appliances, and enact an equitable transition away from the use of fracked gas in buildings. Every bill must prioritize equity and ensure that communities most impacted by pollution, racism, and economic injustice enjoy the benefits of a cleaner environment and have access to jobs and wealth building, services and technologies. These policies can’t wait. Act now for a just transition that advances community health, consumer protection, and climate action.
