The Supreme Court's ruling on Sackett v. EPA last year rolled back decades of protections for wetlands and waterways. Now, our waterways across the country are vulnerable to pollution and degradation. We must restore these protections for wetlands that feed our drinking water and protect against flooding.
Many states are leading by strengthening or enacting their own wetland protections. Meanwhile, other states are refusing to act. Some are even rolling back protections even further. While we’re grateful to the states that are stepping up, waters don’t respect state boundaries. That’s why we’re calling on Congress to step up and restore lost protections.
