The EPA has one job – to protect the environment and public health. Now Donald Trump is stripping the Environmental Protection Agency of its authority to fight climate change by repealing the Endangerment Finding.

This is illegal and it will cost lives. People will get sicker, people’s energy bills will go up, and it will allow fossil fuel companies to unleash even more climate pollution.

I strongly oppose the EPA's repeal of the Endangerment Finding. This decision is a handout to the corporate polluters poisoning our air and water for their profit. We rely on the EPA to protect people from dangerous climate pollution. The 2009 finding has been upheld unanimously in federal court. There are mountains upon mountains of scientific evidence that supports one clear fact: greenhouse gases are a threat to human health and our future. Climate impacts, from heat waves, wildfires, and 100 year floods, are already disrupting communities around the country, destroying and upending the lives of far too many people. The EPA and President Trump are telling us to ignore the reality we are all seeing with our own eyes, while asking us to pay more and allow for more dirty, polluting energy. We urge you to hold Trump’s EPA accountable to upholding their responsibility.
