Tell NJ Legislature: Codify 100% Clean Energy by 2035 to bring down costs for ratepayers!

As Donald Trump rolls back federal clean energy investments to reward his friends in the oil and gas industries, New Jersey must step up and become a national leader in clean energy and the fight against climate change.

100% clean energy by 2035 is New Jersey’s opportunity to codify the transition to more clean energy generation into law, embedding it into the fabric of our state's long-term energy and grid planning moving forward.

This goal paves the way for scaling up much needed cheaper energy generation like solar and battery storage, in a time where our ratepayers are facing the consequences of PJM, our grid operator, relying on expensive, inefficient, and dirty fossil fuels. 100% clean energy by 2035 is our solution for our energy affordability crisis, energy independence, grid reform, good-paying union jobs, and for clean air.

We need you to take action now to tell state legislators and NJ leadership to codify 100% clean electricity by 2035 already!

NJ needs to ensure that New Jerseyans can actually pay their utility bills. Because our regional grids are interconnected under PJM with states like PA and WV who rely heavily on fossil fuels, we must ensure energy prices in NJ are affordable. By generating more domestic clean and renewable power in-state, we ensure that we are not subjected to fossil-fuel price volatility and geopolitical conflicts, and we ensure that New Jersey does its fair share to contribute to mitigating the massive impacts of climate change. By transitioning to 100% clean electricity our regional grid will generate less pollution and we protect our communities.

Take action now to urge the NJ legislature to get this goal across the finish line as soon as possible for the sake of energy affordability, public health, the environment, and communities across the state!

As Donald Trump rolls back federal clean energy investments, I urge you to take action to codify 100% clean energy by 2035 to bring down costs for ratepayers and secure New Jersey’s clean energy future! This is our state’s opportunity to codify the transition to more clean energy generation into law, embedding it into the fabric of our state's long-term energy and grid planning moving forward. 100% clean energy by 2035 paves the way for scaling up much needed cheaper energy generation like solar and battery storage, in a time where our ratepayers are facing the consequences of PJM, our grid operator, relying on expensive, inefficient, and dirty fossil fuels. This goal is our solution for our energy affordability crisis, energy independence, grid reform, good-paying union jobs, and for clean air. The state needs to ensure that New Jerseyans can actually pay their utility bills. NJ continues to struggle with affordability and utility bills continue to go up given our dependence on more costly fossil energy generation in other states like PA and WV. Our grids are interconnected under PJM. Energy prices must be affordable. By generating more clean and renewable power in-state, NJ becomes an energy exporter rather than an energy importer and we ensure that we are not subjected to fossil-fuel price volatility and geopolitical conflicts. Additionally this way, New Jersey can do its fair share to contribute to mitigating the massive impacts of climate change. By transitioning to 100% clean electricity, our regional grid (PJM) will generate less pollution and we can better protect our communities. We urge you to get this goal across the finish line as soon as possible for the sake of energy affordability, public health, the environment, and communities across the state!
