Ask Your State Senator to Support PJM Transparency

Act today to ensure that decisions at PJM are made in the interest of consumers!

House Bill 1599, a bipartisan bill to improve transparency for decisions made at PJM, has made it to the PA Senate. This bill would require electric companies to report on how they vote on issues at PJM in an effort to ensure decisions are made in the interest of consumers.

Decisions made at PJM are often made in a secretive fashion behind closed doors. This lack of accountability allows voting PJM members, many of which are utility companies and electricity generators, to make decisions in their own interest rather than the interest of the customers. Learn more about PJM.

House Bill 1599 would change this situation by requiring PJM members to report on how they voted on various issues.

You can help this bill continue to move forward. Tell you state senator to vote yes on HB 1599 to improve transparency at PJM!

Dear Senator, As your constituent, I am writing to ask you to support HB 1599. This important, bipartisan bill would dramatically increase transparency of decisions made at PJM by voting members. The bill requires the members to report their votes and indicate how the vote was in the best interest of the public. This transparency allows for improved accountability of PJM voting members. HB 1599 will ensure the residents of Pennsylvania are benefiting from decisions being made by electric companies and electricity generators. Thank you.
