Clair Tappaan Lodge Day Trip
Level: Advanced Beginner

Here is your chance to start the ski season with a great trip for advanced beginners. A second day trip is being offered on the following day. Both originate from the Sierra Club's Clair Tappaan Lodge, near Norden, CA. 

On Saturday, we'll ski the trails of the Clair Tappaan Lodge XC system (cost $15 unless you are staying there). We will meet at 9:30 AM on Saturday in the Clair Tappaan Lodge living room. People who have cross-country skied before but have limited experience are encouraged to take a beginner XC ski lesson at local XC ski areas rather than join this outing.

Please do not sign up for this trip if you have never skied before.

Clair Tappaan Lodge has ski gear rentals on-site.

You may make your own lodging arrangements or drive up for the day. This is a day trip that starts and ends at Clair Tappaan Lodge; I suggest staying at the Lodge (530-426-3632) http://clairtappaanlodge.com. CTL cost is ~$165 for one night of lodging for Sierra Club members per person. Cancellation policy is 30 days. A meal plan can be purchased separately for breakfast, bag lunch, and dinner each day.

Please complete the Sierra Club Local Outing medical form and send it to the leader (mrjohncordes@gmail.com) as part of registering for this trip. There is also a Participant Agreement and Waiver that can be completed on-line through this site. For more information about the trip, contact the leader. If you want to qualify as an STS trip leader, you can begin by learning to be an assistant leader on this trip.
